Some news, some whining, some chat, more whining…

The KAL for Maria v2.0 is coming along just fine.  Desert Tyrtle is leading the knitting and finding all the boo-boos along the way (a huge thank you for doing that).
I’ve started mine last afternoon, but it’s slow going.  For a week or so now, I’ve been having pain on my lower back all the way to my toes (on the left leg).  This has forced me to stand up often, so I can’t do what I usually do (sit down and knit until my eyes cross).  OTOH, having to stand up every 20 minutes or so has “forced” me to find things to do, so I’m cleaning more.

Like I said, I’ve started my (hopefully last) Maria yesterday, and in case you’re wondering, yes, I’m getting tired of knitting the same design.  I have to do it though, as there are still kinks that need fixing, little details that I wouldn’t be sure about if I wasn’t knitting along with everybody else.  Here is what I’ve done so far:

Another reason to knit Maria again is that I want to give the people in the KAL some options to lengthen the shawl and I’m much better with images than words.

I did take a break from this project and knit a new design, using a stitch pattern that I’ve been meaning to work with for a long time now and a new (to me) shape.  I’ll write this one out as soon as I’m done with the other Maria (v1.0 and v1.5).  Hopefully, it won’t take long, as I already have parts of the other Maria shawl charted.

For (maybe) the first time since I started releasing patterns, there is no angst associated with the design itself.  No absurd demands or people freaking out on me.  In fact, it’s been so nice, I’m thinking of opening up the group for test knitting.

I think I had more to say, but had to take a break as my foot was tingling and now I don’t remember what it was :P.

  1. I love the idea on a different pattern down the center of the back to break up the single line down the middle so many patterns use….hmmm…wondering if I need to get Maria on my to do list….that sounds wrong.

    1. The idea of hiding the spine had been tickling my mind for a few years now. In fact, it was a suggestion from a Rubbernecker.
